In the last decade of being in business, we have learned so much from our amazing clients. They’ve shared their stories, their fears, their concerns, their proud achievements, their victories, their vulnerabilities, their pain, and so much more. Through these countless conversations, we’ve seen some common themes emerge, some similar reasons behind why they waited so long to take the leap and book their boudoir session. However, after they took the leap, it all became clear that those reasons were nothing more than false beliefs - LIES - that were dissolved by the powerful truths that became evident as they went through the experience with us.
So we’ve compiled a list of these 7 lies that women often believe, that are holding them back from booking their own boudoir experience.
This is in line with one of our core principles behind our message: “Face your lies and embrace your truth.” While it starts with boudoir photography for us, it goes far beyond, encompassing your entire life!
7 Lies Holding You Back From Booking Your Boudoir Session:
Lie #1: “I don’t look like the models on your website.”
First of all, every. . .single. . .gorgeous woman on our website is a regular client - NOT a hired model - who gave us permission to show off her stunning images. Second, each of them also had the same thought: “I don’t look like a model.”
Our passion for boudoir photography stems from the belief that this experience is for EVERY woman!
It is a transformational experience that reveals to you the beauty you possess already. It’s our job to show you how beautiful and sexy you truly are and to challenge the FALSE belief that you don’t have what it takes.
You DO have what it takes, no matter what shape, size, or age you are! Every brave woman who has booked a session with us found this out by trusting us throughout the process. That’s all it takes - trust that you have what it takes and that we know how to bring it out of you!

Lie # 2: “I don’t think it’s worth the money.”
Yes, good boudoir photography IS a significant investment of your time and money. But it is most certainly worth it. Here’s why.
We understand that boudoir photography is a very delicate process. If it’s done right, a boudoir session can positively impact you for the rest of your life, but if it’s not done right, it can negatively impact you just as much. When you choose to have this experience, it can be scary because, not only are you baring your skin, but at times you are baring your soul and that is an extremely courageous act of bravery. A good boudoir photographer understands this.
We know that it is a great responsibility to be trusted by our clients and therefore we have a process in place to ensure that our clients are well-informed and well-cared for throughout the experience. In order for us to craft enough of a margin to be able to give our clients the commitment they deserve, we have to charge a certain amount of money. And while it’s true that it’s an investment of your time and money, it’s also an investment of our heart and soul into you.
From the first moment you express interest in our boudoir photography, we begin to carefully walk with you to discover your level of readiness. We don’t want to pressure anyone into this experience and we are truly here to discover how we can best meet you where you’re at. Once you decide to move forward, we’ll spend time on the phone with you and then in-person at our studio where you’ll get the full perspective (see the studio space, meet the photographer, touch and see our products) before you are even asked if you’re ready to book a session. When you decide to book, you’ll get access to our resources that help set you up for the perfect boudoir experience, you’ll always be able to ask us anything, and you’ll even have a Zoom chat with your photographer before your session to finalize all the details. The day of your session is an event like no other - professional hair and makeup styling, 2 hours of boudoir photography, the option to add our pampering concierge service, and you are the center of our attention for the entire time. You’re treated like a queen! Then you come back to our studio about 1 week later to view your gorgeous images, select your favorites and decide which products you want to purchase. We custom design the layout of your luxury album set and you’ll get to have input on the layout before it gets sent to our lab to be printed. When your beautiful album set is ready to be picked up, we schedule a time for you to stop by so we can personally give you your products and see the look on your face when you get to see the final results of the whole experience! By then we’ve become friends and it’s honestly hard to say goodbye!
At no point in your experience will you feel rushed or pressured. This experience is all about YOU and while it does require a time and financial investment, the real question isn’t whether you believe that boudoir photography is worth it or not. The real question is: do you believe that YOU’RE worth it?? We wholeheartedly believe that you are!!

Lie # 3: “I’ll have to get naked or wear skimpy lingerie.”
You do not have to get naked of wear skimpy lingerie for your boudoir session. In fact, you can even do a boudoir session fully dressed! We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all philosophy and, while we certainly offer helpful guidance for your outfit choices, we don’t force you to wear a certain type of outfit or not wear an outfit at all. In fact we take great measures to ensure that you are in the driver’s seat of where the creative direction goes for a uniquely personalized session, tailored specifically to YOUR preference!
Your reason for the session determines your wardrobe or the lack thereof. Once we discuss your reason, we offer suggestions for outfits that would work well for your desired outcome. We completely understand the anxiety of, “What should I wear?!” and provide well thought-out guides, consult calls, in-person meetings and video chats to help you decide which direction you’d like your session to go and what outfits are the best choices for your goals.
And whether you choose to be fully clothed throughout your entire session with dresses, t-shirts, sweaters, etc. or wear your birthday suit, we want you to know that what you’re comfortable with is perfectly fine! Our space is a place where you are free to express who you are and explore who you want to be. If this means your boudoir outfits include a dress instead of a bra and panty set, that is 100% okay! We can totally achieve your desired look and explore your femininity to create incredibly sensual photos.
We understand that lingerie is not for everybody so bring in your favorite dress or a t-shirt and booty shorts for your next boudoir session! You may be surprised how sexy you can look when you are wearing something you feel comfortable and confident in!

Lie #4:“If I try to look sexy, I’ll end up looking stupid.”
FACT: During your boudoir session, you will never have to “TRY” to look sexy. It is 100% your photographer’s job to coach you with detailed instruction on how to pose so that you’ll look sexy. Asif and Andrea know exactly how to work with your body type, your outfits and the studio lighting to set you up to look your sexiest. All you have to do is follow directions and hold the pose long enough for them to get the shot.
Our clients are not professional models. We don’t expect you to come in already knowing exactly how to look sexy in front of the camera. The truth is, looking sexy most certainly does not feel sexy. It’s hard work sometimes!
During your session you’ll get detailed coaching instructions, something like, “Stand nice and tall, kick your hips to one side, bend your relaxed knee even more, pick that foot’s heel up off the ground, slide that foot and knee across as if you have to pee really bad, then push your booty back, and raise your chest to the ceiling. Now, clear all of your hair off the nape of your neck with both your hands, squeeze your elbows together a little, look at the ceiling, take in a deep breath, close your eyes, and slowly sigh.” Click, click, click! And that’s how sexy is made!
The point is: don’t worry one bit about “trying to look sexy,” because it’s our job to bring out your sexy and we’re pros at this!

Lie #5: “I belong behind the camera, not in front of it.”
Many women are used to being behind the camera, capturing the moments their loved ones are living - kids, fur babies, family, friends - but they want nothing to do with being photographed. They tell themselves (and us!), “I belong behind the camera, not in front of it.” This is a big lie to work through because there is so much behind this lie. Ultimately, when you believe this lie, what you’re really saying is that everyone else’s life is worth documenting but not mine. Yikes! That is so far from the truth!
The truth is that you are totally worth being photographed! In fact, we propose that YOU, the one behind the camera, needs AND deserves this even more. Why? Because as the one behind the camera in life, you are continually giving to the people in your life, showing them how valued and loved they are. But we say that YOU deserve a chance to be appreciated and photographed because you spend so much of yourself doing that for others. You need to see yourself from the other side of the camera, so you can see the light and beauty you already possess and realize that you, too, deserve to have stunning photos of yourself.
We know it’s scary, but it’s your turn to be in front of the camera. It’s your turn to let someone photograph you, and not just anyone, but our amazing and skilled photographers who know exactly how to treat you like a queen while bringing out your beauty in the best light. So stop telling yourself that behind the camera is where you belong, take a moment to be in front of our camera, to have your turn in the spotlight and see just how beautiful you are!

Lie #6: “My images will end up on the internet.”
This one’s easy, guys. Nope. No way, no how, not a chance. We will NEVER post anyone’s images on the internet without their signed permission. We seriously respect you and your privacy, not to mention that our entire goal is to earn and keep your trust!
Here’s what happens - when you view your images and make your selection, we will ask you if you want us to keep your images private or if you want to give us permission to use them. If you want us to keep them private, end of discussion, done deal. Your images are on lockdown! However, if you want to let us use them, we’ll first do a happy dance and then have you fill out our short model release form that states what you’re willing to let us use your images for (our online platforms, advertising, etc.). Finally, you can be certain that if you give us permission to use your images, they will be used!! Sooner or later your gorgeous images will show up on our website, blog, social media platform, or even a billboard (ok, maybe not a billboard YET, but we can dream!).
The point is, we completely give you the full control here and we will absolutely keep our word. The only way your images will end up on the internet is if YOU want them to. The end.

Lie #7: “I don’t have anyone to do this for.”
This might be our favorite lie to address. We hear this a lot, “I would love to do this but I don’t have anyone to do it for.” We absolutely, wholeheartedly disagree!! You most certainly, most definitely, 100% have someone to do this for! In fact, it’s the MOST important person to ever do a boudoir session for. . . that person is YOU!!!
The BEST reason to do a boudoir session is for the person in mirror! In fact, even our clients who do plan to do a boudoir session for the purpose of gifting it to someone special, almost always end up realizing that the experience was actually a gift to themselves. The way it transforms how you see yourself, is a gift that can’t even be explained. It has to be experienced and it’s totally powerful. While giving boudoir photos as a gift is a fantastic idea, we believe that when you come into this experience as a gift for yourself, you are able to glean even more as you go through the journey with us.
So to those of you who say you have no one to do this for, we would love to show you that you most certainly do have someone to do this for. Give us a chance, you’ll see!
