When is it ever going to be the “right” time?

What are you putting off in life? Think for a moment.

Look deep within and acknowledge what is calling to you.

Is it whispering your name or screaming for your attention?

Of course, my focus in writing to you relates to scheduling your own boudoir photo shoot. That’s because, for me, it was the first step toward realizing that NOW is always the right time to do those things in life that call to you.

I’m going to get a little personal with you now. Bear with me…

Years ago, I wanted to do a boudoir photo shoot for my husband, Alex. I didn’t do it. But I always thought I’d have the time to do it later…Sadly, Alex was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2018. My ‘later’ became never. After a period of profound grief, I remembered that I am still alive. And that waiting for that ‘right’ time is basically taking the risk that your dreams and desires will never happen. I still grieve, probably always will. But I have learned the value in living life NOW.

‘Someday’ is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you.
— Timothy Ferriss

Once I decided to seize the day and plan my shoot with Asif, color came back into my life. It was about a year ago, and it was the first step toward reclaiming my precious aliveness. Since then, I have done many other things that I may have simply waited for…what are you waiting for?

None of us know how long we’ll be here on Earth. While we’re here, we make choices. Those choices become the experiences, and ultimately, the life that we live. Choose life! Choose now, my loves. It is such a huge disservice when you tell yourself, “I’ll do that when…” Because life is messy and finding that perfect ‘when’ is like chasing a unicorn.

Do not wait: the time will never be just right. Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.
— Napoleon Hill

Here’s what happens if you choose now:

You start the ball rolling. You take the first step and do the difficult thing that’s maybe scary, but probably exciting, and definitely worthwhile. You move forward and stop standing still. It can be anything, of course. What sets your soul on fire? Are you burning to reach out and connect with a long-lost friend? Skydive? Make a career change? Get that bold new haircut or join the gym?

If signing up for a boudoir shoot sparks your interest, and you take that leap, here’s what else can happen:

  • You may see that you can do anything you set your mind to.

  • You might see yourself as the beautiful being you are, growing in confidence and self-love.

  • You give yourself a chance to explore your unique beauty and style, creating or re-building the woman you’re meant to be.

  • You get to keep both printed and digital memories that capture your best self in stunning photos that you can refer to anytime you need a reminder of your bold and beautiful bad-assery (speaking from personal experience).

  • Maybe you’ll celebrate a milestone.

  • Or maybe you’ll come back from or say, “Eff you, you’re not going to stop me,” to an illness.

  • Perhaps you’ll celebrate your status as a new bride, heal from a broken relationship, or add some spice to a life that could use some extra added juiciness.

  • Whatever it is…it’s good. I promise.

The time is right when you make it right. There’s a spark within you. Don’t let it smolder within. Let it set your world on fire! If you keep waiting for the perfect time, it simply may never come.

There is no perfect time. There is just time. Use yours wisely

There is freedom waiting for you, on the breezes of the sky, and you ask, “What if I fail?” Oh but my darling, what if you fly?
