Even though Valentine’s Day is over, love is still in the air. Andrea is one of our amazing photographers here at The Boudoir Studio! When she is not here at the studio she is busy raising her 3 kids with her husband Zach. This week, she shares with us the serendipitous way Zach came in and out of her life which ultimately ended with them being together. I guess it is true when they say, “If you love somebody, let them go . . . if they return, they were always yours”.

We had so much fun at our February Open House event last night! We were able to catch up with some returning clients and welcomed more people into our Roc Boudie Tribe! Thanksgiving is right around the corner, what better time to reflect on all that we should be grateful for? A few weeks ago our guest blogger, Jes Lyn, wrote about how much practicing gratitude can change one’s mindset. I have to be honest, I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind! Our Onyx bedroom was definitely a favorite among our guests! After taking some fun photos in our photo booth, we all settled into the Boho room to look through albums and check out the slideshow. Our veteran boudoir clients talked about how and why they have done a boudoir session. It was so great to re-connect with our clients and get to know some new faces!

One of my most memorable boudoir photography moments is when a client of mine described me as a gay bestie to my wife during a PhotoShop (reveal) appointment. I don’t think anyone could’ve paid me any higher of a compliment than that. What’s amazing is that she. . .

Is it possible for a feminist to also participate in a boudoir session?

A close friend asked me this months ago as I had accepted my blogging position here at The Boudoir Studio. Honestly, it flustered me to give her an answer that would satisfy her curiosity and also hold me accountable for my own woman empowering values. If you were to ask Google, “does taking off your clothes empower a woman?” the short answer is no. However, in my own boudoir experiences, both assisting sessions and being in front of the camera, my answer would be yes. Perhaps it is an unpopular opinion. . . but I know that for some women, there is no better way to own your space, be proud of your body and to encapsulate that feeling forever than to be photographed nude.
